A clear driveway plan makes the estimate more accurate and helps prevent last-minute changes. Before requesting pricing, think through how vehicles will enter, park, turn and connect to the road or garage.

Define the footprint

Measure the approximate length and width, identify desired parking or turnaround areas and note any future garage, shop or addition. Mark utilities, septic components, landscaping and structures that may affect access or placement. Final dimensions can be confirmed during project planning.

Review transitions and drainage

The road apron, garage threshold, existing walks and surrounding yard grades need clean transitions. Water should not be directed toward the garage, foundation or neighboring property. Existing low areas, downspouts and steep changes in elevation should be discussed early.

Share how the driveway will be used

Passenger vehicles, trailers, delivery trucks and heavier equipment place different demands on a driveway. Tell the estimator about expected traffic and any construction access that may occur after the pour. FormScope currently provides standard concrete finishes and does not offer stamped concrete.
